History

The history list at Manchester University Press is renowned worldwide for publishing high-quality academic scholarship from medieval through to modern history, on a diverse range of subjects. With particular strengths in medieval, early modern, imperial and modern history, Manchester University Press also has expanding and exciting gender and historiography sections, as well as a reputation for publishing cutting edge work in cultural history. Whilst much of our publishing comes through our numerous series, we welcome proposals for both academic monographs as well as student textbooks. In our areas of expertise, we are interested in works which advance the understanding of historical events and brings new research forward in clearly written and exciting ways.
