Support for Family and Friends

About the series
It can be very distressing when a family member or a friend is taken seriously ill, or when their life is altered by addiction or violence. These occurrences often lead to feelings of helplessness and frustration.
However, there are simple things that you and those around you can do to help both the sufferer and the main person caring for them (if this isn't you). It is on this basis that this series of books has been created – to help you help your loved ones.
Providing up-to-date information about the illness or condition to enable you to understand what your loved one is going through, each book offers a wide range of ideas and advice on how to help, what to say and what to do. It also provides a useful directory of support groups and information centres so that you can access the best resources out there. This book should leave you well-informed and able to act (or simply give peace and quiet) in the most welcome and appropriate way, and will benefit not only you, but also the sufferer and the main carer.
